Bio
Jasmine Johnson is an interdisciplinary artist and curator based in Chicago. Johnson is receiving a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Studio from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Johnson’s artistic work explores the relationship between form, community, perception, and meaning making, through human and non-human references. Her curatorial practice is inspired by play, institutional critique, and the nuance of human experiences. Johnson will exhibit work at The Marta Czok Foundation in Venice, Italy in the show Undercurrents. Johnson is currently one half of MagandMan, a curatorial duo; they recently had their Inaugural exhibition, A House Built on Sand, at Color Club. Johnson currently works as a Gallery Assistant for SAIC Galleries and as the SITE Special Programs Director.
